Welcome to the Copeland Elementary School site! Go Falcons!

Welcome to Ms. Duncan's Class!

Welcome to my website!  This will be my third year teaching in Huffman, and my sixth year in education. I teach Math, Science, and Social Studies. My partner teacher is Mrs. Mourning.  I have two daughters attending school in Huffman - Gracey, in fifth grade, and Lyla, in second grade.

My site is nothing fancy, but very user-friendly.  To your right, I've got links to different subject-specific sites.  If I find accurate "how-to" videos, I'll try to post those as well so you'll have some idea of how I've taught it in class.  I know it can be frustrating when helping your child with homework, then you realize that your child is learning a completely different method than you've been taught.

I also post printable weekly homework assignments, and other useful documents/references we use in class.

Don't ever hesitate to contact me via Class Dojo (through site or app), email (mduncan@huffmanisd.net), or phone (281-324-7100, ext 7677). I can reply back more quickly through Class Dojo or email.  Thank you for visiting my site!

Pearson Info.

This year, the students will be using Pearson Easybridge, an online program to complete assignments, watch learning videos, play math games, and even take tests.  I log in and assign activities with a due date.  They will use it in Math Workshop, but can access it at home as well by logging in to their student portal. They simply go to www.huffmanisd.net, then click on Student at the top in order to log in.  From there, they click on Pearson Easybridge.  Have your child show you how to log in and take a glance.  It is a great learning tool!

TUTORING

I have tutoring on Thursday mornings at 7:30.  If your child would like to attend, he/she needs a tutoring pass.  Those are available upon request.

Extra Practice

Here's a doc I created for extra math practice at home.  This is a glimpse into what you're child is being taught in 4th grade.  Sit down with your child and go through some of these questions together, and you'll see how hard these kids work!
