Welcome to my page, Falcons!
I am so excited to be joining Copeland Elementary this year and teaching what I love, ART! Art is a passion of mine. I not only teach it, but I am also an artist. I paint in acrylics in my spare time, I also create artwork to donate to charity and benefits raising money for important causes in the community. I illustrated my first children's book in 2013, entitled "Seeking Christmas", by Renee Robinson. I am blessed to be able to teach what I love.
I graduated from Sam Houston State University (go Bearkats!) in 2004. I worked in the corporate world for 10 years before making a career change to teaching. It was the best decision I could have made. I've been teaching for 3 years. I have 3 sons and my oldest attends CES, as well. I'm excited to teach in the same school as him and in my home district.
I look forward to a fantastic year. I hope to inspire creativity and outside-of-the-box thinking in my students. I want to help them apply what they learn to real life. Art is a powerful tool and can be used in many areas of life. I want my students to learn how to use it outside of the confines of the school walls. I will help them reach their creative potential!
It's going to be a great year, y'all! Go Falcons! Go Ms. Hallum's Art Class!
